About Your Session
These tips and tricks will help you, your spouse and your family members prepare for your family session. I take pride in every family photo session in creating a level of comfort that allows you and your family to relax, have fun and be yourselves. We move with the pace of your family and focus on the "money" shots first making sure to leave plenty of time for candid photos and fun-time. I will work with you to build a list of shots that you would like to see come from your sessions. You will learn a little bit more about me below and will be provided with plenty of tips and tricks to help your session be everything you have imagined it to be. Thank you for being here!
I will work with you to pick the perfect location(s) for your photos taking special care to review accessibility, safety and variety of your location(s). We will then work together to review your needs, wants and ideas. This will help me create a list to ensure we focus on the shots you and your family are most looking forward to.
As a nature-education teacher by day, a past Michigan State Park Explorer Guide, Childcare Educator and camp counselor I have worked with children of all ages, abilities and personalities in a variety of settings. Communication with your child(ren) will be friendly, calm and encouraging as well as on their level. As a teacher I understand that every child is different and some take more time than others to warm-up. This may be the same for spouses, pets and anyone else that may be joining us. To accommodate as many as possible, I work with you in creating your list as mentioned above to schedule photo order accordingly. I will do my best to ensure everyone in attendance has the best experience possible!
What to Wear?
First and foremost, make sure your wardrobe is comfortable! After those mantle-worthy photos I encourage all of families to go for a walk with me. Whether this is down the beach, through a row of tall red pines or zig-zagging throughout the local botanic gardens, let's take a walk. This is where comfortable clothing will come in handy! Think, solid colors, neutral compliments and non-distracting items. Need ideas? Check out my Pinterest board!
